HUBUNGAN RASIO LINGKAR PINGGANG DAN PANGGUL DENGAN TEKANAN DARAH SISWA KELAS XI DI SMA SANTO THOMAS 1 MEDAN
Background : Increased prevalence of generative diseases such as hypertension as they relate to changes in diet and lifestyle and the influence of the waist and hip circumference which indicates obesity. Waist hip ratio is an anthropometric indicators reflect the composition of body fat associated with central obesity which can lead to increased total cholesterol.
Methods : This study is an analytical correlative, Study approach with cross sectional. Samples are taken, based on the formula Slovin, totaling 85 people a class XI student in 2016 who had signed informed consent and get in criteria. Waist Hip Ratio Measurement using tape measure. While the blood pressure measurement using a mercury sphygmomanometer Riester calibrated and a stethoscope ONE MED.
Results : From the research, waist hip ratio is the highest female subject categories currently numbering 30 people (35.3%) and least is the high waist hip ratio with a ratio of ≥ 1 of 5 people (5.9%) and waist hip ratio Male subjects most low category where waist hip ratio < 0.9 totaling 30 and waist hip ratio is the fewest number of high waist hip ratio with a ratio of ≥ 1 amounted to 2 (2.4%). The most categories is the optimal systolic blood pressure that amounted to 41 people (48.2%), and total fewest hypertension grade 1 is 4 people (4.7%), while diastolic blood pressure with total largest number of subjects Optimal category is 58 people (68.2 %), hypertension grade 3 is the number of subjects less than 2 people. Based on Pearson correlation test there was no significant relationship between waist hip ratio with Blood Pressure.
Conclusion : There is no relationship Waist and Hip Ratio with blood pressure.
