FUNGSI KOGNITIF PADA LANSIA DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN MONTREAL COGNITIVE ASSESMENT VERSI INDONESIA (MOCA-INA) DI PANTI JOMPO GUNA BUDI MEDAN LABUHAN

Abstract

Cognitive function is the whole process whereby an individual accepts, records, stores and uses information, and can also be defined all mental processes including perception, memory, imagination creations, and thinking that shape awareness and alertness and decision-making processes. Old age is an event that will be experienced by everyone and can not be avoided by anyone. The elderly will experience changes in both physical changes and mental and psychosocial changes. This study aims to determine the description of cognitive function by using the Montreal Cognitive Assessment Version of Indonesia (MoCA-INA) at Panti Jompo Guna Budi Bakti MedanLabuhan.

        This research uses descriptive research method. Samples were 62 respondents by total sample. The technique is an interview using MoCA-INA. The results of this study showed that women experienced a decrease of 32 people with moderate severity of 17 people (50%), male as many as 27 people with moderate severity 17 people (60.7%). While the age of 60-74 years as many as 35 people with moderate severity 24 people (63.4%) and age 75-90 years as many as 24 people with moderate severity and weight respectively 10 people (41.7%). Based on the results of this study it can be concluded that there is a decrease in cognitive function in the elderly in Yayasan Guna Budi Bakti Medan Labuhan as many as 59 people. Based on the most sexes are women as many as 34 people and based on the severity of the most in the category of moderate as many as 34 people. As for suggestions to be conveyed by researchers that the elderly follow various activities to stimulate cognitive function in the elderly such as handicrafts, worship, and regular exercise.
