Abstract

Visum et repertum (VeR) as an evidence plays a role in the process of proving a criminal case. It is expected to provide enough information for law enforcers, especially judges in making court decisions, for this purpose a good quality VeR is needed.  This study was an observational study with a descriptive analytic approach to the post mortem et repertum data on the injuries of living victims in Medan Haji Hospital for the period March 1, 2018 to 31 March 2019. The assessment used 13 variables of Herkutanto’s scoring method, which divides into 3 parts. The percentage quality of the VeR is  categorized as low (<50), medium (50-75) and high (>75). Samples were selected by total sampling method. The total number of cases examined by physicians as evidenced by a post mortem report was 20 cases. The quality of the VeR injury in the introduction, findings and conclusion parts was 60%, 58.33% and 50%, respectively. The overall quality achieved was  53.75%. The findings showed that the living injuries reporting in VeR was not good. It is consistent with the statement of Indonesian Medical Council No.11, 2012 and the previous reports.
